FNIRSI IPS3608: lab power supply up to 36 V and 8 A
FNIRSI IPS3608 is a digital laboratory power supply powered from 100 V to 240 V AC mains that delivers an output of 0 V to 36 V and 0 A to 8 A at up to 285 W. You set the voltage with a resolution of 0.01 V and the current with a resolution of 0.001 A, so you can precisely power both a sensitive electronic circuit and a motor or an LED strip with a higher current draw.
The power supply works in constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) mode, and you read the parameters on a 2.8" colour screen. You can store six sets of settings, and the unit plots voltage and current as a graph. A fan cools the CNC aluminium housing.

How to calculate power supply accuracy?
A readback accuracy of ±(0.3% + 3 digits) means a percentage of the value plus three smallest display steps. Example from the manufacturer: at 5 V the error is 5 x 0.3% + 3 x 0.01 V, or ±0.045 V.

Can it charge a phone?
Yes, the power supply has a USB Type-C port with PD 3.0 and a USB Type-A port with QC 2.0, QC 3.0, AFC and Huawei FCP and SCP protocols. You can fast charge a phone from them or power another USB device during a repair.
What protections does it have?
The power supply protects against overvoltage, overcurrent, overpower, overheating, undervoltage and short circuits. It also has input reverse connection protection and output reverse injection protection.
Can I control it from a PC?
Yes, once connected with the data cable from the package, the power supply works with the manufacturer software. The software shows live measurements, stores graphs and settings, and in advanced mode supports output sequences and voltage and current scanning.
