Description
Real time clock module with backup battery power supply. Allows you to read the time in the form of hour, minute and second and date: month, day, year. Communication interface is I2C bus (SDA and SCL lines), data refresh rate is 1 Hz (1 second). The battery included in the module allows to keep the system running for up to 9 years without external power supply.

Connection
The 5-volt power supply is connected to the significant pin with the same symbol. The I2C bus should be connected to the SCL - clock line and SDA -dataline outputs. The SQW pinis arectangular signal output with a selected frequency (details on page 3 of the documentation).GND isthe systemground.
Connecting the chip is facilitated bya tutorialandexamplefor Arduino users.
Connectors .
The outlets are soldering fields, which allow to soldergoldpin connectors (raster2.54 mm). Thanks to them it is possible to connect the circuit with acontactboardormain module (e.g. STM32Discovery orArduino) usingwires.
The kit does not includegoldpin slats...can be purchased separately. On customer's request, we can deliver the layout with soldered goldpin connectors. For this purpose, please leave the information in the commentary to the order. The option is available only when buying goldpin slats. |
