The Revopoint POP 4 is a hybrid 3D scanner for small to medium-sized objects , designed for handheld and stationary operation . It combines a multi-line blue laser, a single laser line, and full-field structured light and VCSEL , offering a total of 5 scanning modes . The device delivers single-frame accuracy down to 0.03 mm , volumetric accuracy of 0.03 mm + 0.05 mm x L, and a scanning speed of up to 105 fps . The working distance is from 200 mm to 800 mm , and the supported object range extends from 10 x 10 x 10 mm to 2 x 2 x 2 m . The scanner enables color capture, AI- based object segmentation, and outdoor operation with illumination up to 100,000 lux . The compact design, measuring 160 x 30 x 72 mm and weighing 286 g, facilitates mobile scanning of parts, models, people and items intended for 3D printing or reverse engineering.

The scanner supports 5 modes - fast 30 blue cross lines mode, single line mode for deep holes, Full-Field HD, VCSEL Rapid and Hybrid HD.
3D scanning technology and five operating modes
The Revopoint POP 4 combines 30 blue cross lines, a single laser line, a full-field near-infrared structured light, and a VCSEL projector . High Speed mode is designed for fast scanning of technical parts, including those with dark or shiny surfaces, while the single line makes it easier to reach deep holes and narrow crevices. Full-Field HD allows for efficient capture of people and objects with rich geometry, while VCSEL Rapid increases the workspace and facilitates work in bright light. Hybrid HD combines the advantages of full-field structured light and VCSEL, ensuring rapid acquisition of a dense point cloud. In laser modes, markers should be used to enable stable tracking of the scanner's position. In structured light modes, markers are not necessary for objects with distinct and varied geometric features . For surfaces without feature features, markers can improve the stability of stitching subsequent frames.
Measurement precision, speed and scanning range
Single-frame accuracy is up to 0.03 mm in line laser mode, up to 0.08 mm in Full-Field mode, and up to 0.1 mm or 0.2 mm in VCSEL mode – depending on the working distance. Volumetric accuracy in multi-line mode is defined by the formula 0.03 mm + 0.05 mm x L , where L is the object length in meters. Laser scanning can be performed at up to 105 fps with NVIDIA acceleration or up to 60 fps when computed by the CPU. Working distances range from 200 mm to 400 mm for laser, from 250 mm to 500 mm for Full-Field HD and Hybrid HD modes, and from 300 mm to 800 mm for VCSEL. The scanner supports object volumes from 10 x 10 x 10 mm to 2 x 2 x 2 m . At 200 mm distance, the single capture area is 131 x 134 mm. In VCSEL mode, at 800 mm distance, this can increase to 505 x 538 mm, which facilitates the digitization of larger surfaces.
Volumetric accuracy of 0.03 mm + 0.05 mm x L ensures reliable dimensional data during multi-line scanning.
VCSEL mode supports illumination up to 100,000 lx, which allows for outdoor operation.
Color scanning, outdoor operation and power
A built-in 1.3 MP RGB camera and two white LEDs enable the capture of geometry along with color and texture. The 3D Gaussian Splatting function also allows for the mapping of light interactions with surfaces, which is useful when digitizing hair, fabrics, reflections, and semi-transparent materials. Data can be exported directly to the Splat format. VCSEL mode allows for operation at illuminances up to 100,000 lux , making it suitable for use outdoors and in direct sunlight. Multi-line laser mode supports illuminances up to 50,000 lux by default, while 100,000 lux requires an optional external filter. The scanner itself does not have a built-in battery and requires power via USB Type-C . An optional 5500 mAh battery holder provides approximately 4 hours of operation , but is not included in the Standard Edition .
Wireless connectivity and Revo Scan 6 software
The Revopoint POP 4 communicates via WiFi 6, Bluetooth 4.1, or a wired USB 3.0 Type-C port . While the wireless connection allows the scanner to be detached from a computer, it still requires an external power source, such as an optional battery holder. The multi-line laser mode utilizes the computer's processing power and operates independently, only with a smartphone. Full-Field and VCSEL modes can be operated on the go . Free Revo Scan 6 software is used to acquire point clouds, stitch scans, clean data, smooth models, and export files. Supported formats include PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, FBX, and Splat , allowing models to be transferred to CAD environments, graphics programs, and 3D printing slicers. The manufacturer also offers separately sold Revo Design for scan-to-CAD conversion and reverse engineering, and Revo Measure for dimensional inspection. The availability of GPU acceleration, AI segmentation, and 3DGS processing depends on the system used and your computer's components.
Hybrid HD mode combines the advantages of Full-Field and VCSEL modes, providing fast and precise 3D scanning and reliable object tracking.
