Product description: 3D scanner - Creality Sermoon P1

The Creality Sermoon P1 is an advanced, portable all-in-one 3D scanner that combines a blue laser and NIR structured light with powerful on-board processing. Its 22 cross laser lines, 7 parallel laser lines, and 1 single laser line allow for scanning of large surfaces, fine details, gaps, and deep holes, while NIR mode is suitable for larger objects and markerless scanning . Scanning accuracy reaches 0.02 mm , and volumetric accuracy is 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m . The Sermoon P1 can handle objects from 5 x 5 x 5 mm to 4000 x 4000 x 4000 mm and can operate standalone, wirelessly, or wired to a computer. A 6-inch touchscreen , Qualcomm processor, 24 GB RAM, 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage, WiFi 7, and two replaceable 3300 mAh batteries create a mobile station for scanning, processing, and exporting 3D models . The device also supports capturing color textures and scanning black and metal surfaces without the use of matting spray.

3D scanner - Creality Sermoon P1

The scanner offers a combination of 22 cross, 7 parallel and 1 single blue laser line with a dual NIR VCSEL structured light source.

Hybrid 3D scanning technology - laser and NIR structured light

The Creality Sermoon P1 utilizes multiple geometry acquisition methods, allowing a single scanner to handle objects of varying sizes and shapes. 22 cross-shaped blue laser lines are used to quickly collect data from larger surfaces, while 7 parallel laser lines allow for focusing on small details and complex geometry. A separate, single laser line is designed to scan deep holes, narrow crevices, and recesses that can be difficult to capture with standard multi-line methods. The system is complemented by NIR VCSEL structured light , designed for rapid scanning of medium- to large-sized objects, sculptures, and human figures, among other applications.

High scanning accuracy and a wide range of object sizes

In technical applications, not only the appearance of the generated 3D model is important, but also its dimensional consistency with the physical object. In blue laser modes, the Sermoon P1 achieves an accuracy of up to 0.02 mm and a volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m , making it suitable for reverse engineering, dimensional inspection, and designing parts that fit existing structures. 3D resolution in laser mode ranges from 0.05 mm to 2 mm , allowing you to tailor the data detail to the size of the scanned element. The blue laser system allows you to start working with objects as small as 5 x 5 x 5 mm , while the maximum supported scan size reaches 4000 x 4000 x 4000 mm . The combination of precise laser scanning with the wide field of view of NIR mode allows you to use a single device for both small technical parts and much larger structures.

The scanner can operate standalone, connect wirelessly to a computer, or use a stable USB wired connection when it needs maximum performance.

Sermoon P1's Three Operating Modes and 6-Inch Touchscreen

One of the key differences between the Sermoon P1 and a traditional scanner that requires a constant connection to a computer is its ability to operate completely autonomously . In standalone mode, scanning, previewing, and basic model processing are performed directly on the device, which is particularly convenient when measuring in a workshop, production hall, vehicle, or field. You can also connect the scanner wirelessly to your computer or use a stable wired USB connection when you need maximum performance. Control is simplified by a 6-inch HD touchscreen , which displays the scan preview, distance to the object, and subsequent data processing steps. This solution allows you to start work without building a complex measurement station, and seamlessly switch to working with a computer if necessary.

Qualcomm processor, WiFi 7 and 3D model processing software

Processing the large number of points is handled by an 8-core Qualcomm processor clocked at up to 3.36 GHz , an Adreno 740 graphics chip, and FPGA hardware acceleration. The device has 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage , allowing data to be saved and processed without having to be immediately transferred to a computer. The built-in software supports calibration, scanning, point cloud merging, multi-scan matching, meshing, and color texture mapping . When working with a computer, you can use CrealityScan 4 on Windows and macOS, and the completed data can then be transferred to reverse engineering, design, and inspection programs such as QuickSurface and Geomagic Design X. WiFi 7 connectivity enables fast wireless data transfer, while a wired connection is the solution for projects where maximum stability and speed are a priority.

Sermoon P1 works with CrealityScan 4 software, and the resulting models can be further used in reverse engineering, design and inspection programs.

Selected laser modes can operate at illumination levels up to 100,000 lx.

Interchangeable batteries and mobile field work

The Sermoon P1 was designed as a device that can be taken directly to the object being scanned, instead of having to carry it to the measurement station. The kit includes two replaceable 3300 mAh batteries – one can power the device while the other is readily available for quick replacement. This solution reduces downtime during extended work, such as digitizing a car, machine, or components located outside the workshop. The batteries support fast charging. and according to the manufacturer, it takes about 50 minutes to reach an 80% charge ; each can also be charged independently via a USB Type-C port. The entire scanner has a compact housing, a comfortable handle, and is supplied with a carrying case , which makes it easy to safely transport the device, calibration plate, and accessories .

Scan metal, dark surfaces, and colored textures without spray

Many traditional 3D scanners struggle with very dark, shiny, or metallic surfaces, so a special matting spray is often applied before measurement. The Sermoon P1 is designed to scan black and metal objects without the need for spray , shortening the preparation time and reducing the need for subsequent surface cleaning. This is particularly important for automotive parts, machine components, tools, molds, and objects that should not be coated with additional substances. The global shutter RGB camera, Qualcomm ISP chip, and white auxiliary lighting also allow for the capture of colored textures , allowing the model to reproduce not only the geometry but also the surface appearance. The design is also designed for operation in high light conditions – the single line and 22-cross line modes support conditions up to 100,000 lux , extending the scanner's usability outside of a controlled measurement environment.
