What is accelerometer?

What is an accelerometer? What is it used for?

Accelerometer is a sensor that allows to determine the acceleration of the body (in three axes), interchangeably the term accelerometer is used. An accelerometer is a transducer that measures linear acceleration, that is, it measures its own motion. Wondering where an accelerometer is used? The answer is simple - you can even find one in your smartphone. You can learn more about accelerometer in the article available on our blog - welcome!

STEMMA QT / QWIIC standard

Three axis accelerometer from Adafruit is equipped with two STEMMA QT / QWIIC connectors, placed on the edge of the board. This standard allows quick connection to development boards and a wide range of other sensors using a suitable cable, without the need for soldering.
