The M5Stack Unit ADS1115 (U087) module is one of the most useful additions in the M5Stack ecosystem when you need precision that standard ESP32 pins simply can't provide. Here is a detailed evaluation of this voltmeter: Why do you need it? (Main advantage) The standard ADCs built into the ESP32 (which you will find in the M5Stick or CoreS3) have two major drawbacks: they are non-linear and have a low resolution (12-bit). ADS1115 solves both of these problems. 16-bit resolution: Detects extremely small voltage changes. I2C interface: You don't waste analog pins; communication is done digitally through the port of Grove. Key features and capabilities 4 Input Channels: You can measure four independent voltages (Single-Ended) or two differential voltages (Differential). Differential measurements are crucial for highly sensitive sensors, such as strain gauge bridges. Built-in Amplifier (PGA): This is a "killer feature". You can programmatically amplify a weak signal (up to ±0.256V), allowing you to directly measure very small voltages without external op-amps. Programmable Sample Rate: 8 to 860 samples per second (SPS).
