Description
Module to add functions to measure the light intensity of the environment for constructed projects. Applied sensor TSL2561 runs in the range of from 0.1 to 40K+, it is powered with the voltage from 2.7 V to 3.6 V, it is communicating through the I2C bus. It has connectors to connect crocodiles to sensors Flora,GemmaorCircuit Playground. Built-in logic-level converter and protections, protect the module against wrong connection and other events.
The module communicates via the digital communication interface I2C (lines: SDA and SCL). It works with a supply voltage of 3 V which means that you can connect it directly to the main controller of Adafruit Florawithconductive threads. It has 3 possible bus address that can be changed via a jumper to solder.
Sensor TSL2561
Among other sensors of this type, TSL2561 features with the linear characteristic in the range visible to the human eye with wavelength of light. For best approximation, it also measures the intensity of infrared light separately which increases its accuracy. The sensor has two analog-to-digital converters (ADC), which integrate the currents simultaneously from two built-in photodiodes. Changing the integration time, it is possible to measure both small and large intensity of the incident light.
