Compared to theprevious version of ESP-12, ESP-12Ehas additional GPIO pins and SPI interface available on the narrower edge of the module as soldering pads.

Features of ESP-12E module

Features that distinguish the ESP-12E module from the entire ESP-XX family:

  • It has 16 outputs:
    • 11 x GPIO - digital outputs/inputs
    • 1 x ADC input - analogue-to-digital converter
    • 1 x SPI interface
    • 2 x UART (TX, RX) - for communication with e.g. Arduino
  • Installation: SMD / THT:
    • Hole diameter: 0.9 mm
    • Raster of exits: 2 mm
  • Default communication speed UART: 115200 bps
  • Equipped with a built-in PCB antenna
  • Screened module
  • Dimensions: 24 x 16 mm
