Product description: Gravity - Science Data Acquisition Module Kit - educational kit with a data acquisition module - DFRobot EDU0170
Science Data Acquisition Module Kit is an educational kit from DFRobot that allows you to conduct comprehensive scientific experiments related to digital data acquisition . It is a multifunctional tool that can be used in the context of individual projects and during school classes to implement STEM-related topics. The kit includes the SCI DAQ Module , enabling the acquisition and interpretation of data from various sensors, four peripheral devices - a soil moisture sensor, an ambient light sensor, a temperature and humidity sensor and an air quality sensor, as well as accessories to facilitate the connection of all elements.
The manufacturer has developed a course that prepares the user to conduct scientific experiments using SCI DAQ modules.
Scientific experiments
The manufacturer has developed a course that prepares the user to conduct scientific experiments using SCI DAQ modules. It covers a wide range of STEM-compatible topics (not just science), including issues in the physical and biological sciences, as well as environmental science. While carrying out the experiments discussed during the course, you will learn how to use SCI modules and sensors to measure various environmental parameters (conductivity, soil moisture, temperature, humidity and air quality). Moreover, you will also learn how to analyze data collected by various sensors and draw conclusions based on them.
To supplement your knowledge, also check out the SCI DAQ Module data acquisition guide , which shows how you can use its potential.
Special features of the data acquisition module
- Equipped with a clear display presenting processed data from the sensor in real time and thus allowing continuous monitoring of the collected measurements.
- It has plug-and-play connectors, compatible with the Gravity standard, thanks to which the connected I2C sensor is automatically recognized by the module.
- Includes a calibration function, very useful when using sensors that require additional calibration immediately before use (such as PH and TDS).
- It allows you to store data in the built-in 16 MB memory, allowing you to store over 400,000 pieces of data. This data can be exported to a computer via the USB Type-C interface for further analysis and processing.
- Equipped with an RTC clock that records the exact time a given measurement was obtained, which can be useful when tracking trends in a given environment.
- It is compatible with boards such as micro:bit, Arduino , Raspberry Pi or UNIHIKER.
Data conversion
Gravity - SCI DAQ Module automatically converts the signal into appropriate physical quantities and then transmits them in the uniform format "name1: value1, unit1; name2: value2, unit2". This functionality eliminates the need to manually change the formats of individual measurements and implement additional libraries . This significantly simplifies the system programming stage and speeds up data acquisition.
