PiTalk 2G HAT is a module supporting GSM/GPRS + GNSS wireless communication based on the SIM868 chip. It works at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies. The maximum transmission speed for GPRS class 12 is 85.6 kbps . It supports CS-1/CS-2/CS-3/CS-4 encoding schemes and provides low TTFF (Time-To-First-Fix) and high sensitivity. It was designed for IoT devices (Internet of Things) and applications requiring operation without an Ethernet or WiFi connection. It allows you to make voice calls, send messages and create connections to wireless networks. Works with Raspberry Pi (models A, B and Zero) as a HAT shield. The built-in CH340 chip also allows it to work as a USB module.

Additional PiTalk functionality
The module provides 2G GSM/GPRS communication, including making voice calls, sending and receiving SMS messages, supporting TCP/UDP protocols, as well as POP3, SMTP, FTP and HTTP. In addition, it has built-in GNSS functionality: GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou. This makes it possible to determine the exact position of the device, and Bluetooth allows for fast wireless communication with devices over a short distance.
The jumper located on the board also allows you to choose the method of communication with the built-in module - via a 40-pin connector compatible with Raspberry Pi, or a micro USB connector via the CH340 UART converter.
There is a micro SIM connector at the bottom of the board.
