Description description: Adafruit MagTag - 2.9 '' WiFi ESP32 e-paper display - Adafruit 4800
Adafruit MagTag is a combination of the ESP32-S2 WiFi wireless network module with an e-paper screen with a diagonal of 2.9 " , displaying an image in shades of gray. E-paper displays can display the image even without a power supply. Programming of the module takes place via the native USB port Type C and the use of Arduino or CircuitPython The board is equipped with a connector for connecting a Li-Pol battery and a dedicated place for a small battery The battery is charged via the USB C port. The module in deep sleep mode consumes about 250 uA of current. also find four RGB NeoPixel LEDs, tact-switch buttons, two Stemma JST 3-pin connectors and a Qwiic / Stemma QT connector and a power switch.
The manufacturer has prepared a user guide with sample CircuitPython libraries and codes, which makes it much easier to start working with the module.
The main features of the Adafruit MagTag module
- ESP32-S2 with Tensilica 240 MHz processor - next generation ESP32, now with native USB that can act as keyboard / mouse, MIDI device, disk, etc.
- The WROVER module is CE / FCC certified and contains 4 MB of Flash memory and 2 MB of PSRAM memory.
- 2.9 "e-paper display with a resolution of 296 x 128 px - each pixel can display white, light gray, dark gray or black. Compared to 3-color screens with red pigment, this display will update the image in a shorter time, about 15 seconds.
- Power supply and data exchange via USB type C connector
- Four RGB NeoPixel LEDs illuminating the screen with any color or pattern.
- The four buttons can be used to wake the ESP32 from deep sleep or select a different mode.
- The 3-axis LIS3DH accelerometer helps to determine the screen orientation.
- Loudspeaker / buzzer with mini class D amplifier and DAC with A0 output, can play sounds or lo-fi audio clips.
- Front light sensor .
- Qwiic / Stemma QT port for connecting to any I2C device.
- Two Stemma JST 3-pin connectors for NeoPixel diodes, speakers, servos or relays.
