The GPS-RTK-SMA Kit was prepared by the SparkFun company and includes all the necessary components to perform RTK measurements. In order to obtain measurements of this type, satellites are used because they are the only ones that provide precise values concerning the position, required in geolocation and broadly understood geodesy. The kit includes a GNSS receiver with the ZED-F9P system, a multi-band antenna with a grounding plate and a bi-directional USB cable.

What is RTK?
The abbreviation comes from the English term for Real Time Kinematic ( RTK GPS) and describes the technology of making measurements using satellite navigation. RTK measurement is very precise - it has centimeter accuracy, and what is more - it is obtained in real time (without performing calculations after the measurement in the so-called post-processing). RTK measurement technologies are used primarily in geodesy and cartography, because they enable very fast determination of the position of the satellite antenna phase center of the receiver. SparkFun RTK Facet can be used in four modes:
- GNSS positioning (accuracy ~ 30 cm) - also known as "Rover"
- GNSS positioning with RTK (1.4 cm accuracy) - also known as "Rover with RTK Fix"
