Description
Shield for the system from the Featherfamilywith an accurate real time clock DS3231 RTC. It communicates via the I2C bus. It has the temperature compensated quartz oscillator (TCXO).
Most RTC clocks use an external quartz resonator of 32 kHz. This is a good solution, however, these resonators are not undergoing the changes of the temperature (temperature in a small degree, but affects the movement of the crystals). Module of theDS3231Precision RTC FeatherWingreal time clock, has a quartz resonator integrated in a chip. Next to it, is the temperature sensor, which adds or subtracts the time quantums.
Connector onbattery CR1220, so-called small pill (not included), enables the maintaining of the RTC in the absence of the main power.
