How to run the UP minicomputer?
- USB Disk - medium that contains the system image to install.
- AC adapter:
- 5 V / 4 A for the minicomputer
- HDMI cable - to connect the device to the monitor
- Mouse and keyboard - to control and to input the data into the device
Minicomputer UP works with the systems Android, Windows 10 Windows 10 IoT, ublinux, Ubuntu, and Yocto. The device has 64 GB of memory eMMC.
Operating system
Minicomputer UP board works with the Android, Windows 10, ublinux, Ubuntu, and Yocto. The kit does not have a Windows license, it must be purchased separately.
The installation of the Windows operating system, is very simple, below is a brief instruction:
- To install Windows, you will need an external USB hard drive of at least 4GB, for example, the Flash Drive.
- On the disk, you should create a Windows image - the image can be downloaded from the official Microsoft website. It can be created with any program that can be found on the Internet or you can use the MediaCreationTool created by the Microsoft - on the websiteof Microsoft, available is installation instructions and download file.
- Next, you need to connect the drive to a USB port on minicomputer. When connected to the current, there should show the image of the installation.
- Before beginning the installation process, you must delete all partitions which are on the disk of minicomputer.
- The manufacturer has prepared a package of drivers designed for minicomputer UP board.
Communication
Minicomputer UP has the main communication interfaces which can be found in office computers of PC class. The user has at his or her disposal:
- 3 USB 3.0 connectorts + 1 microUSB 3.0 OTG, to which can be connected, for example, a mouse, a keyboard, a wi-fi card or USB flash drive. If you find that the slots are too short, you can increase their number using an external USB HUB.
- 2 Ethernet slots, that is the ability to directly connect to the network.
- GPIO x 40 pin + 60 EXHAT pin - outputs/inputs with general purpose that can be used to control the LEDs, buttons, drivers of engines. Among them are the pins supporting interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART.
- SATA3 - to connect hard drive
Power supply
As a power source, the system uses the DC connector 5.5 / 2.1 mm. Manufacturer recommends that the voltage indicated on the plug had a value of 5.0 V and an output current of the used adapter shall be not less than 4.0 A. In our offer, you will find a special adapter.
