The Asus Tinker Edge T minicomputer is equipped with NXP i.MX 8M and ARM Cortex A53 1.5 GHz. It has a Google Edge TPU AI accelerator with advanced power supply and easy implementation of the machine learning model. The board also has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of eMMC memory and WiFi and Bluetooth communication.

AI Edge TPU AI accelerator in Asus Tinker Edge T
The device is specially designed for AI applications. It has a Google Edge TPU, a machine learning accelerator (ML) that significantly increases processing efficiency, as well as lowers energy demand and makes it easier to build connected devices and smart applications. With the ML accelerator, the Edge T is able to perform four tera-operations per second(TOPS), consuming only 0.5 W per computing unit. It has also been optimized for TensolFlow Lite models.
Minicomputer power supply
The Asus Tinker Edge T has a special power design that delivers 45 watts of power with the power supply, ensuring stable operation and full I/O performance, even when connecting multiple devices. In addition, it has protections that activate when the current and voltage changes rapidly, effectively protecting the board and the devices connected to it.
NXP i.MX 8M processor in Asus Tinker Edge T
The minicomputer is equipped with a powerful and modern quad-core NXP i.MX 8M processor based on the ARM Cortex A53, so that Tinker Edge T offers powerful solutions for graphics, video, audio, voice and security applications. You can also find 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 8 GB eMMC and a microSD card slot. The whole is cooled passively and actively using a large fan heatsink.
Communication interfaces
The device has a large number of I/Os, including a MIPI-DSI connector for a touch screen display and two MIPI-CSI connectors for compatible cameras to enable computer vision in applications such as: depth measurement, intelligent machines with QR payment system and interactive advertising.Programmable LEDs allow you to create custom lighting behaviour, e.g. system notifications and status indicators, and colour GPIO makes pin recognition easier. The board also features a full HDMI port, USB Type A and USB Type C, Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi and Bluetooth.
Developer Package
Asus provides an API and SDK that allows easy implementation of machine learning models in Tinker Edge T and applications such as image classification and object detection.
