Description
Digital 3 V light intensity sensor with I2C interface. It operates in the range from 0.1 to 40k+ lux. Among other sensors of this type, it is distinguished by its linear characteristic in the range of light wavelengths visible to the human eye. For better approximation, TSL2561 also measures infrared light intensity.
TSL2561 sensor has two analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), which integrate currents simultaneously from two integrated photodiodes. By changing the integration time, both small and large incident light intensities can be measured. The sensor can be used with any microcontroller equipped with I2C interface (e.g. STM32Discovery, ArduinoorRaspberryPi).
Arduino compatible product The manufacturer provides auser guideanda library with the programon the GitHub website. |
Connection
The system has 5 leads:
- 3V3- supply voltage 3.3 V
- GND- mass potential
- SCL- clock line I2C
- SDA- I2C data line
- INT- external interruption, the sensor sends a signal after the measurement is completed (optional output)
The ADDR jumper allows to change the I2C bus address. Details in thedocumentation, instructions andthemodulediagram.
Soldering fields are used to soldergoldpin connectors (2.54 mmraster). Thanks to them it is possible to connect the circuit withcontactboardormain module by means of cables. The set does not includegoldpin connectors, they can be purchased separately. The module's dimensions are 16 x 19 mm, the diameter of each of the two mounting holes is 3 mm.
