Description
Picade is an overlay for the RaspberryPi mounteddirectly on the GPIO minicomputer's GPIO leads. With this cap you can create a retro gaming console using the Raspberry. On the board there are connectors forthe joystick and buttons,audio I2S DAC with 3W amplifier and a power switch. The cover plate is powered via a micro USB port on the board, power is also supplied to the Raspberry Pi via GPIO connectors so there is no need for additional power for the Raspberry Pi.
The product is available as a Picade cover, RaspberryPiminicomputerandcase can be purchased separately.
The I2S DAC combines both channels of digital audio from the Raspberry Pi into one mono output. It then goes through a 3W amplifier to power any connected speaker. The board also has a power switch that allows you to safely turn the Raspberry on and off without damaging the SD card. The manufacturer recommends usingM2.5 spacersto prevent the board from coming into contact with the HDMI port.
