Temperature measurement at your fingertips
Knowing the temperature helps us decide if we should get warmer before we go outside. For this purpose, window thermometers are used. The development of digital electronics and the conversion of non-electrical quantities into voltage signals has also led to the evolution of thermometers. In this way, classical mercury and alcohol thermometers are increasingly being replaced by digital thermometers with LCD displays. An example of such a thermometer is the Velleman TA25 - a digital window thermometer, which can be used for both indoor and outdoor use thanks to its rotating suction cup cover.
Operation of the Velleman TA25 window thermometer
Before using the thermometer, remove the canopy-shaped cover with the chimney by releasing the latch and pulling the cover upwards. Then remove the plastic cover from the battery. The thermometer will then turn on. Using the button on the left, you can select the scale of the displayed temperature in degrees Celsius ("°C") or degrees Fahrenheit ("°F") depending on your preference. Then, after pressing and holding the "SET" button, set the time. This is necessary for the thermometer to reset the memory according to real time. Once this is done, the thermometer is ready for use.
