Description
Banana Pi M3 is a minicomputer equipped with2 GB of RAM, 8 GB built-in EMMC Flash memory, 1.8 GHz Octa Core Octa A7 1.8 GHz Allwinner A83T ARM Cortex A7 processor and connectors, among others: 2 x USB, SATA, microSD, HDMI, jack and Bluetooth 4.0. The board has 40 GPIO pins and interfaces: INTERFACES: UART, I2C, SPI. M3 version also has a built-in WiFi module. Built-in buttons: Reset, Power, Uboot and infrared receiver are helpful when using the module.

Image and sound
Banana Pi has anHDMI connectionthrough which both video and audio can be transmitted. In addition, the board is equipped with a jack connector, to which you can connect headphones or output an analog video signal.
Operating system
Banana Pi has a built-in EMMC memory and also uses amicroSD memorycard.The operating system can be uploaded using a computer with a reader. The operatingsystem can be downloaded for free from the manufacturer's website.
Communication
Banana Pi has basic communication interfaces, which can be found in PC-class office computers. In addition to the previously mentioned audio and video interfaces, the user has at his disposal:
- two USB connectors,under which you can connect e.g. a mouse, a keyboard, a WiFi card or a flash drive. If it turns out that there are too few connections, you can increase their number usingan external USB HUB.
- Ethernet socket, i.e. the possibility of direct connection to the LAN.
- WiFi module- Banana Pi M3 has a built-in WiFi module with a connector foran external antenna.
- 40 x GPIO- general purpose outputs/inputs, which can be used to operate LEDs, buttons, motor controllers. Among them there are pins supporting I2C, SPI and UART interfaces.
- SATA connector- enabling connection of a drive with a capacity of up to 2 TB through anappropriate cable.
- Output to the camera- connector for dedicatedBanana Pi camera.
Power supply .
The system uses the microUSB connector as the power source. In practice, this means that amobile phonechargerwith a capacityof at least 2 A can be used to run Banana Pi, e.g. Extreme power supply.
