Description
Digital ambient light sensor powered with the voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V with I2C interface. Among other sensors of this type, it is featured with the linear characteristic in the range visible to the human eye with the wavelengths of light. For best approximation, the TSL2581 also measures the intensity of infrared light. It is 30 times more sensitive thanthe modules TSL2561.
Sensor TSL2581 has two analog-to-digital converters (ADC) which integrate currents simultaneously with two built-in photodiodes. Changing the integration time it is possible to measure both small and large intensity of the incident light. The sensor can be used with any microcontroller that has I2C interface (e.g.,STM32Discovery,ArduinoorRaspberry Pi).
The product is compatible with Arduino and STM32 A manufacturer has prepared a user manualalong witha sample programfor Arduino and STM32. |
Connection
The system has 5 pins:
Pin | Description |
---|---|
VCC | Supply voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V. |
GND | The ground of the system. |
SCL | Clock line of the I2C bus. |
SDA | The data line of the I2C bus. |
INT | The first external interrupts. |
ADDR jumper allows to change the address of the I2C bus. Details inthe documentation, instructionsand onthe diagram of the module.
