Resistors for electronic devices
In each of the devices powered from 230V mains or from batteries we can find electronic elements which cooperate with one another thanks to their selection with regard to appropriate parameters and appropriate circuitry.
Such elements include, among others, resistors which perform the function of limiting the flow of current, but can also be used to build signal amplifying blocks.
Examples of applications
For example, if we have an operational amplifier supplied with ±12V and we feed it with a rectangular waveform with frequency of 1kHz and peak-to-peak voltage of 5V with no DC component, and we want to get a phase inverted waveform at its output, then we short the non-inverting input of the amplifier to ground.
To the inverting input we connect two 4.7kΩ resistors - to the first of them we feed the input signal, and the second lead of the second one we connect to the amplifier's output.
