Product description: Palette 3 - filament joining system
Palette 3 is an advanced filament blendingsystem, which is commonly used in3D printing. The product is a smart solution for people who, despite having3D printerswith a single extruder, which can feed only one thermoplastic filament at a time, want to easily make prints with more colours. Palette version 3 allows up tofourfilamnets to be used simultaneously. In addition to adding color variety to the final model, the system will also prove useful for creating soluble supports in 3D models with complex shapes.
A presentation of the potential capabilities of Mosaic Palette 3.
Palette 3 - how does it work?
The principle of operation of theMosaicproduct is based on the appropriate shortening of the downloaded material for printing. Palette simultaneously downloads all loadedfilaments, then according to the guidelines entered by us in the project, selects the appropriate and trims it to the appropriate size. In the next step, it takes another thread of another filament and also cuts it to the appropriate length. The next stage of work consists in combining the two pieces. This process is constantly repeated. As a result, we get a new filament composed of several others. It is then fed to the extruder of the printer.
Colourful potential
Creating colourful, complex models has never been so easy. Palette allows you to use up to four different coloured filaments at the same time. All this can be achieved without interfering with the design of your 3D printer. The expensive purchase of equipment with multiple extruders is no longer necessary to enjoy the wide colour gamut of the finished 3D models. Palette 3 users also do not have to manually paint the obtained printouts, which is a very demanding and time-consuming process.
Multi-material 3D printing
As with colour mixing, the Mosaic Palette 3 is an invaluable tool for combining different types of filaments together. Printing complex 3D models where individual parts need to exhibit different properties is made much easier with Palette 3. The different types of filament can be mixed together during the design phase. The Mosaic system does the hardest part. In addition, the product is an invaluable help when creating dissolvable supports. Among the compatible types of filaments, the manufacturer lists: PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, PVA, HIPS with a Shore hardness of at least 95A.
Improved weave core 3 generation
The Palette 3 version is a model, in which the manufacturer used an improved system of combining pieces of pre-cut filament threads. Its operation is based on an upgraded strand core, which is characterised by speed and great precision of operation. It ensures reliable and accurate combining of filaments and then transporting them to the movement mechanism in the 3D printer. An additional advantage of the product is the possibility of long-term operation, which is often required for complex 3D models. In the case of depletion of one of the installed filaments, Palette automatically uses the next one without interrupting printing.
Convenience of use
The Palette 3 is equipped with WiFi connectivity. This enables a fast and reliable connection between the module, printer and computer. Mosaic's filament blending system also includes dedicated Canvas software, which enables the creation of advanced modifications to 3D models in the cloud.
What has changed compared to Palette 2?
- Up to 25% faster filament merging
- Improved cooling system
- Larger, clearer display
- Redesigned material transport tubes to reduce the risk of material jamming
- Integrated Canvas Hub. Palette 3 no longer requires the separate purchase of a component for easy connection to a computer. Control is via the Palette 3's built-in touch screen. The device is still OctoPrint compatible.
